Our Hectic Summer Vacation (Part II)

Not all our vacation was spent on shopping, complaining about airline policy and the sweltering summer heat. To get them off my back, I agreed to my wife’s suggestion to enroll our daughter on a ballet class. I’m not expecting she’ll dance like Lisa Macuja. But it’s a good way to spend her extra energy. Besides, I don’t like my wife and daughter bothering me while I attend on some matters regarding my parents’ estate.

As usual, my wife took photos. She wants to document every stage of my daughter’s formative years.

The class includes callisthenic and stretching exercises. But being over-weight, her teachers have to assist her in some of their work-outs.

Ballet supposes to teach children balance and poise. But losing extra two pounds in three weeks of class did her good.

To escape the summer heat, I made it a point to go somewhere during weekends to cool-off. Our usual destinations are the beach and swimming pools.

At Hawili beach with some cousins.

At Sampaguita compound (Precious Moments) with friends.

At a local hotel swimming pool.

Before we returned back, we went to Tagaytay with some friends from Riyadh.
We spent the whole day visiting all its scenic places. Actually the scenic views are the same. It’s all overlooking Taal Lake.

My daughter’s first horse back riding. She wasn’t afraid at all unlike other kids her age. In fact she enjoyed the ride, squealing in excitement all the way.

Well, so much for my vacation. Back to reality and will resume regular programming on my next post.

  1. That vacation will be very memorable for Bea, especially the ballet class and first horse ride. =) Dapat yata mag ballet class ako to trim down. Hahaha.

  2. Nasabi ko na rin sa sarili ko noon na iisa lang ang tanawin sa Tagaytay; pero ayos naman kasi nakita ko sa travel book (can't recall the name of the author), 'Taal volcano and the lake' is one of the "1001 places to see before you die!" o",)

Sa tingin ko po dapat may follow-up ang dancing ni Bea dyan sa KSA. At next time siguro dapat video na ang makikita namin dito.

  5. welcome back to the Philippines!

that is so cool - to have your daughter enroll in a ballet class. daughter Kay when she was younger likes boy than girl games. buti na nga lang at di natransform ha ha but seriously, i'd like to suggest to bring your daughter to art classes. i think it would be an enjoyable experience for her, too. :-)

How was Tagaytay weather? How I long to go somewhere really cool. I was there last February with my family and went horseback riding for the first time too. (haha, at the age of 24)

    Vacations always end too soon....

  21. ohooy eto yung sinabi kong nagliliyad si bea hahahahaha sagwa ng term ko parang salitang kalye hahaha.
eto ang aking pinakamalaking frustration sa buhay,na magkaanak ng babae, having kids is really a blessings either boy or girl pero mas prefer ko sana baby girl? why? wala lang basta lang hahaha, lets face it, boy will grow up and will be a head of the family and much focused on his family and lesser to the parents but
the girl will get married, will become a mother at mas nakakarelate na sya sa pagiging mother
at kahit anu pang busy nya sa family nya e di nya nalilimutang dalawin yung mga olds.
its true na its our obligation to raise our children and its not their obligation to take care of us pero syempre pag matanda na tayo nagiging ksp narin at maghahanap narin ng pansin nila, hayz, pero ok alng, ang mahalaga maganda maging buhay nila at maging successful, yun lang e mapapanatag natayo (para yatang bila akong naging dramatic hahaha).
